Dear Secretariat members,

I write to fully endorse the suggestions documented by Dr. Michael Hoffman.

I would add that public confidence in science is dependent on trust and that while due process should be observed, there must be disclosure of incidences where misconduct was found. Our institutions tend not to wish such negative information be released but it is in their and the public's interest in the long term.

While I made these comments 9 years ago, they are as relevant today, as then.

Sincerely,

Jim Woodgett, PhD FRS(C)
